 Background

Craig enjoys representing individual clients and guiding them through the overwhelming experience of facing criminal and other legal problems, by applying his legal knowledge and skill to critically examine evidence, educating his clients on applicable law and procedure, counseling clients on their legal situation, and fighting for clients in court.

For six years, Craig worked for the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of North Carolina. As an Assistant United States Attorney, he was responsible for conducting criminal investigations and prosecuting criminal cases in federal court.

Craig handled cases involving robberies, firearms offenses, firearms trafficking offenses, drug trafficking, drug conspiracies, money laundering, communicating interstate threats, and other federal crimes.

As the district’s National Security / Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council Coordinator for two years, he was responsible for investigating violations of federal crimes involving national security, domestic violent extremism, terrorism, and energy facility and infrastructure attacks.

Craig’s criminal litigation experience includes jury trials, motions and sentencing hearings, and supervised release violations in the United States District Court. He also wrote appellate briefs and argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

As a former Assistant District Attorney for six years in North Carolina, he tried dozens of jury trials in Superior Court, including serious felony cases, assaults, robberies, and first-degree murder cases. Craig prosecuted state cases involving all types of felony and misdemeanor offenses with emphasis on violent crimes, drug offenses, domestic violence, child abuse, and murders.

Interests and Hobbies

Craig grew up in New York but has called North Carolina home for over 23 years. His wife is from Kernersville, NC and they met and started dating as freshmen at Duke. He lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife, son, and rescue dog Fiona. He is involved as a volunteer leader with his son’s Cub Scout Pack. He enjoys hiking, fishing, and biking with his family, visiting historical sites and art museums, and playing guitar.
